Whale Watching in the Argentinean Sea (Atlantic Ocean)

The whale watching season runs from May to December. September and October are the best months. Rituals of reproduction are the powerful force that summons the whales. This wonderful spectacle is repeated and grows every year, thanks to the work of protection that develops diverse organisms of the zone.
A sight-seeing excursion
The whale watching is done by embarking from Puerto Pirámides. The companies authorized by the Province to do so take all necessary precautions so that this activity does not generate environmental impact and does not alter the behavior of the whales. The route begins bordering the coast in different directions, then to go one or two miles offshore, To the encounter of the whales australes. The

first stop is usually made in La Lobería which is perpendicular to Puerto Pirámides where some 2000 whale specimens live.

The navigation for the sighting along the coast also allows to observe several colonies of cormorants and other specimens of coastal avifauna.
Then the boat moves away from the coast, the engines stop and for a moment there reigns a silence cut only by the mixed sounds of penguins, gulls, seagulls and cormorants. It is a moment of waiting ... Someone observes in the distance a great concentration of birds. The boat approaches and suddenly, when all the group is attentive, something silver and white jumps to the side of the boat, and the loud noise of a Body striking the surface of the sea ... It is a moment of euphoria. Everybody shouts, they speak in different languages ... And like to complete the party never missing the dolphins that appear to make their show of acrobatics and jumps in full freedom next to the whales.
