The Esteros del Ibera: It is the second largest wetland in the world and the most important water reserve in Argentina. It is in the heart of the province of Corrientes and extends over more than 1,300,000 hectares, many of them forming lagoons, streams and estuaries. It is one of the most important protected natural areas of South America, where more than 4000 species of animals and plants live. A unique feature of the Ibera is its reservoirs, are organic, airy and light soils that float along with aquatic vegetation and come to support trees and animals: yacares, capybaras and deer of marshes. It is ideal for watching and photography. Being one of the most biodiverse places in Argentina, it was declared a Nature Reserve and there are organizations struggling to protect this great ecosystem.
