On November 28
staff of the Natural Monument #LagunaDeLosPozuelos participated in the
liberation of a condor in the Cuesta del Lipán, in the province of
Jujuy.
The specimen, baptized Willaq - which in Quechua language means "the one who gives notice" - was in rehabilitation for a year ago in the Ecoparque de Buenos Aires, after it was found in the town of Volcán, in the Quebrada de Humahuaca, intoxicated with lead.
As a result of repeated similar cases, the protected area is currently collaborating with the Bioandina Foundation on environmental education, raising awareness about the danger posed by the use of toxic baits.
